William Duys:
Hugo van Neck is perhaps the most amazing musician of this world and beyond. Amazingly, in the most positive sense, for his musical possibilities seem limitless to be. As a gifted pianist, he played any classical compositions in unprecedented ways. But it does not. Hugo is an improviser. Traditionally known children's songs melt together into a delightful piano recital, in which we suspect writings of famous composers. Blurring boundaries between classical and jazz, just how the master suits.
Define the musical paths Hugo van Neck could take all seems as impossible as to determine where the boundaries of his universe lies
Nor can it determine whether an end to his inexhaustible imagination and virtuosity. Any attempt to Hugo van Neck "to divide" we would like to urge with soft discouraged.
It borders on the incredible that this Dutch pianist every conceivable musical directions as governed in all aspects, to take her to hunch in perfect harmony interwoven and drags the listener into a musical fairy tale world of adult fantasies.
Daniel Wayenberg:
Hugo van Neck, an underdeveloped talent?
In the history of the culture appears all too often the image of an artist whose talent on the part of his life is not valued. And how many are unknown? Still come for such situations. The fact that Hugo van Neck in our country so little known is an example of such an undervaluation. Among the very many ways in which the music can be approached, stands at the Hugo improvisation in the foreground. The curious and interesting to him, that there is specialization in the field of style does not occur. With both the classical and the high romantic style, he is thoroughly familiar and this is also true for the Jazz. His knowledge of the piano enables him to search for unusual sound effects are not the way to go. Both in the simple as in the complex is at home. The virtuosity is naturally abundant, but not continuously attracts attention. It is not possible in some words so versatile way of making music to describe, but it can be said that in the professional circuit a lot of respect for Hugo is found.
The question whether Hugo van Neck a backward talent is her answer. It is sad that the many possibilities in the game of Hugo not much better exploited by the organizations and the media in our country who make frequent use of the different types of music. I wish him - and our country - therefore that this may soon change and that his talent will take the place it deserves.
Igor Roma:
I with Hugo van Neck the first time right after I played in the semifinal at the "Franz Liszt" International Piano Competition in Utrecht in 1996. Shaking my hand with a very warm and charming voice he told me: "Horowitz is back!"
Perhaps I thought That was his kindness Slightly over the edge, comparing me with Such a master, but I did not know yet with Whom I was speaking and I could not imagine what Especially love this guy had for the "Last Romantic Master" . Soon after I had the luck to discover it.
After a concert of mine, while I was changing in the dressing room, I heard somebody playing on a piano that was placed outside but close to the room I was. Literally thrilled by That style, I Understood That anybody who was playing there, was unique and incredibly talented. The easiness All which was delivered in Improvisational runs, in a jazzy style combined with classical elements, pushed me, filled with curiosity, directly to the door. I was there again in front of that guy with the charming voice, Which at this time, was Expressed through his fingers on that piano.
From That time, everytime I had the luck and pleasure to meet my friend Hugo, I was always happy to listen to his unique pianism and musicianship. In fact, his playing Reminded me many times the great Vladimir Horowitz, full of sound and virtuosity fascination. I must admit That if I would not know him, if I would not love him, I Could Be Such a naturally very jealous or power! I wished to have a ten percent or Hugo's talent Concerning improvisation and extemporary musical fantasy.
He is one of the few people who give you the feeling That everything is Possible on a piano keyboard ...
Thanks Hugo, for being the great musician you are!
Louis van Dijk:
Once told a friend in Amsterdam told me: "You should go and listen at Cafe de Paris. There's someone to play the piano so well, you certainly will be stunned. "
That kind of story you hear often, so I went once a beer at the designated venue with the thought 'let's see what you can'! Now, did Hugo. And I can still vividly remember how amazed and thrilled I was. Hugo van Neck is undoubtedly a gifted pianistic talent Semitic nature. I hope that many of us will enjoy his great gift!
Polo de Haas:
Hugo van Neck I regard as a VIP. An important personality among pianists. He eludes everyone's norms, because he plays all the music he brings in his own way. I mean, he plays the notes scores true to the instructions of the composer, but gives his own completely free vision. Improvisation is his innate and not classical or jazz-like style is crazy for him to tackle technically he is an allrounder, a natural talent. He invents it where you assist: classical, jazz, lounge music, latin, dance or just ... whatever he has.
Ruud Jacobs:
Hugo van Neck belongs with Louis van Dijk, one of the best pianists in the world in terms of improvising on classical themes. The Art Tatum-like style is breathtaking. Please, I recommend "Hugo van Neck therefore as" super-entertainer. "

The performances of Hugo van Neck always have a great impression on me. He is one of those rare pianists who have the gift of improvising in various styles always the right atmosphere within seconds of each composer and pianistic arrangements. Add to this his astounding virtuosity on and you have a musical event, remember that no one should be. I hope still are often quite brilliant performances to enjoy.
Jacques de Tiège:
The stories of the improvisation by Beethoven and Liszt, I never can believe. The audience was not much used, I thought.
Hugo van Neck Now I've heard, I am obliged to think differently. What he does is truly amazing, both musically and pianistic. I think there is only one word for "brilliant"!
Jaap van Sweden:
If I hear Hugo van Neck play the world seems to stop spinning. He is so completely one with his instrument and the interpretation of the music, that is whether there is nobody for him there. But because I know him, I know better. He plays for people. Their emotion he feels like something of himself. That stamps him apart from his dazzling musicality, to a large box.
Frank Kramer:
Johan Cruyff in the center and Hugo van Neck on the wing, because I would much joy to experience.
